Who we are
Bibbin is run by Spanna Ltd, trading as Bibbin, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 14327281, registered office 12 Dukes Wood Avenue, Gerrards Cross, England, SL9 7JT). Spanna Ltd is the data controller for your information. Contact: hello@getbibbin.com.
A little information, for a good reason
You can play the daily quiz as a guest. Accounts are for people aged 13 or over. Under-13s must not create an account. A parent or guardian can add a kid profile to their private Family; a kid profile is not an account and has no email or password.
We collect your email for signing in, a player display name and chosen avatar, your preferred mode, game scores and answer results, play dates and streak information, group memberships and join requests, and homework results, personal bests and number of tries. Leaders also provide group names, types, settings and quiz content. Email sign-in uses a password handled by our authentication service; Google sign-in supplies account information needed to sign you in.
Please choose a nickname, not a real name. There are no photo uploads, chat, direct messages or GPS features.
Private Family and kid profiles
Family is separate from church and community Groups. We store your family name, owner, approved members, join requests and parent or guardian confirmation. The owner approves joining and manages the family. For kid profiles we store only a nickname, an illustrated avatar, their family and managing guardian, and daily quiz scores, answer-result squares and play dates to grow their own streak tree. Please never use a child's real name or contact information.
Only approved members of that family can see its members, kid profiles, Today scores and family rankings. Pending applicants and people outside the family cannot see them. Kid profiles never appear on group, global or friends leaderboards and cannot join groups or have friends. Only the guardian who added a kid profile can select it to play. A parent or guardian confirms their responsibility and agrees to storing this information before adding a kid profile.
The owner can remove a kid profile in Family → Members, which deletes its saved scores. Removing a guardian, or that guardian leaving the family or deleting their account, also removes the kid profiles they added and their scores. Deleting a family removes all its kid profiles, kid scores, memberships and requests; adult daily scores are not deleted. Deleting the owner's account also deletes their family. Family has no chat or messages, and we do not show advertising to children.
Why we use it
We use this information to run your account, save quiz results and streaks, manage groups and homework, keep the app secure and investigate errors. We record leaders' AI quiz-generation usage to enforce the daily limit. We do not sell your data or show advertising to children; bibbin currently has no advertising.
Who can see what
Your email is not shown to other players or group leaders. Your daily saved results are available to you; a result you choose to share can be seen by whoever receives it. Approved members of a shared group and its leader can see your player name and avatar. The leader can see that group's memberships and homework first scores, best scores and tries. Other members cannot read your homework results. A leader can see the basic player identity of someone requesting to join their group. Pending requests do not unlock group content.
People authorised to operate bibbin and its service providers may process data as needed to run, secure and support the app.
Paid plans
Only adults (18 or over) can buy a plan; we record your confirmation and when you gave it. Stripe is the seller (merchant of record) for subscriptions and collects your payment card, billing address and email to take payment, calculate tax, prevent fraud and send receipts, under its own privacy policy. Bibbin never sees your full card number. We keep a record of your plan, its status, renewal and refund dates, and your approximate country (from your internet connection) so we only offer plans where they're available. Kid profiles are never shown prices or asked to buy anything.
Where information lives
Account and quiz information is stored in Lovable Cloud. Your browser stores sign-in information, preferences and guest results so the app works between visits. Hosting and authentication services may process technical information such as IP addresses, device information and security logs. Error reports may include the page address and details of the error.
Our fonts are stored with the app, so loading a page does not send your details to Google.
Service providers we use
- Lovable Cloud: hosts the app and stores accounts and quiz information.
- Stripe: the seller (merchant of record) for paid plans; takes payment, handles tax, prevents fraud and sends receipts.
- Google: only if you choose Continue with Google, to sign you in.
- Lovable AI: writes quizzes from Bible passages and session plans for leaders. Only passages, quiz instructions and anonymous question statistics are sent; never names, emails or kid profiles.
Our legal bases
We use your information to provide the service you signed up for (contract), to keep Bibbin safe, secure and working well (legitimate interests), to keep payment and tax records (legal obligation), and, for kid profiles, with the consent of the parent or guardian who adds them.
Cookies and browser storage
bibbin only uses essential cookies and browser storage: keeping you signed in, remembering app settings such as menu layout, guest results and which screens you have seen, and Stripe's fraud-prevention cookies during checkout. We use no advertising cookies, tracking or analytics, so no cookie banner is needed.
Keeping and deleting information
We keep account information while your account exists. Scores and homework history stay with your account, including ended homework. Leaving a group does not by itself erase every past result. We have not set an automatic inactive-account deletion period. Payment and tax records are kept by Stripe and us for as long as the law requires (usually six years in the UK). AI usage records are kept only to enforce daily limits.
To delete your account, open Account, scroll to the bottom and choose “Delete my account”, then type DELETE to confirm. This removes your account and associated player records from the active app. If you lead any groups, delete them in Group settings first. If you own a family with other adult members, remove those members first. If you are the sole adult owner, deleting your account permanently deletes the family and all its kid profiles and streak trees. Any active subscriptions are cancelled immediately so there are no further charges, and you forfeit the remaining paid period. Joined in the last 14 days? Email hello@getbibbin.com for a refund before deleting your account. We retain billing records for tax and accounting, detached from your deleted player profile. Backup copies and operational logs may remain under service providers' retention arrangements; we cannot promise immediate deletion from every backup or log.
You can change your display name and avatar in Account and leave groups there. For questions or other data requests, contact us below.
Your rights
You can ask to access your information, correct it, restrict or object to how we use it, or receive a copy to take elsewhere (portability). You can delete your account at any time with “Delete my account” in Account. For anything else, email hello@getbibbin.com. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Children's privacy
Bibbin is designed to follow the US Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the UK Children's Code. Under-13s never have their own accounts, emails or real names on bibbin. Kid profiles are created and managed by a parent or guardian and are visible only to their own family. Children see no advertising, are not profiled, and are never shown prices or asked to buy anything.
